World Record Peacock Bass Fishing
Peacock Bass Fishing in Brazil's Amazon is the greatest fishing adventure in the world today! Amazon Tours was the first to offer tours in 1992 with fishing on the famous Amazon Queen. In October of 1998 Amazon Tours completed construction of the land-based Rio Negro Lodge. We now offer the finest mobile and land-based accommodations in Brazil to pursue the fierce fighting Peacock Bass.
Peacock Bass Fishing in Brazil
Brazil, the largest country in South America, is friendly and politically stable. Your air travel is five hours non-stop from Miami to Manaus, a modern city of 1 1/2 million population situated at the influx of the Rio Negro and the mighty Amazon. Manaus was once the rubber capital of the world, and with its ornate mansions and famous opera house, still reflects the riches brought over from Europe in that era. The trip duration is a week, with six days of fishing.

Trip of a lifetime
Our Fishermen are treated to a once-in-a-lifetime adventure aboard the Amazon Queen with world-class fishing few people get to enjoy. The Queen's great advantage is the ability to constantly move; covering hundreds of miles each week, working only productive fishing grounds.
Amazon Tours pioneered peacock bass fishing in Brazil. Our first clients fished the region with us in August 1992. Doc Lawson, holder of the current ICFA all tackle world record, caught the 27-pound peacock bass with Amazon Tours in 1994. Phil Marsteller, owner/operator of Amazon Tours, knows the region. Raised in South America by his missionary parents, Phil has fished peacock bass for over 35 years.
